Important info

Squirrels are young people aged 4 to 6 who:

• are curious, kind and ready for adventure
• learn new skills
• make friends
• have fun exploring the world around them

Every week, they gather in groups called Squirrel Dreys to hop, skip and jump their way through lots of different games and activities – achieving anything they set their minds to, and having lots of fun along the way.

Exploring the great outdoors

Squirrel Scouts love getting outside and discovering the world around them. Whether they are exploring a local park, going on a nature walk, searching for minibeasts or taking part in outdoor games, they learn to appreciate nature, build confidence and enjoy adventures with their friends.

Trying new activities and learning new things

Every meeting is an opportunity for Squirrel Scouts to try something different. From arts and crafts to cooking, science experiments and team challenges, Squirrels are encouraged to be curious, have a go and learn new skills. By trying new activities, they discover their talents and build confidence in themselves.  

Gaining important life skills

Squirrel Scouts develop valuable skills that help them in everyday life. They learn how to work as part of a team, communicate with others, solve problems and make good choices. Through fun activities and challenges, they become more independent, resilient and ready for new experiences.

Helping others

Being a Squirrel Scout means caring about other people and making a positive difference. Squirrels learn the importance of kindness, sharing and helping those around them. Whether supporting friends, helping at home or taking part in community activities, they discover that even small actions can make a big difference.
